Hailey is 3!

This year we decided it was time to have some friends over to help Hailey celebrate turning 3. It is hard in the winter to come up with anything that will fit people in my house! I can't wait for the day I live somewhere big enough to invite all the friends and parents Hailey wants over. Hailey requested a castle cake, so I decided to go with it and we made little crowns for the kids that they got to put jewels on, some royal jewelry and eat pizza, cake and ice cream. Hailey had a great time with some of her friends and is really enjoying birthdays now that she really gets the concept. She keeps asking whose birthday is next. We topped the day off with the ward Paperbowl. Remember that game you used to play with a little paper football in class? Yes, that's the one, and Derek won this year. I guess it's his year for football, since he also won his Fantasy league with his friends from home.

What's a mom to do?

My dear sweet Ashlyn is very independent. I am not sure that independent even begins to explain her, but she is one who refuses to be bound by any restriction. While this has brought many a battle, including sitting in church, a high chair, being held, trying to feed her, or even cut her food, giving her a bath, and the list continues... it has also brought a battle that I was a little surprised and hopefully grateful for. My little 16 month old has decided that sleeping in a crib is not an option, too much restriction. So, about a week or so ago, mommy and daddy gave in and she got to sleep with Hailey. It was amazing, they played and giggled for a minute, but were soon fast asleep. It has been over a week now and it is still going strong. She was taking her naps in her crib, but the last three days that has been out too. She just climbs right in that bed and goes to sleep! I don't know how long it will last, but I'm hoping for good. I would have never tried doing this on my own, but I guess Miss Independent won this time, and mommy is happy to come in second.

15 Down

For those who haven't heard or seen it is true. My clothes do not fit with purpose. Derek, Hailey, Ashlyn and I are excited to welcome number 5 to the Farnsworth crew. We are excited to add baby number three to the mix and can't believe it is only 6 months away! All has gone well so far and we hope it stays that way! We figured it was time to 'fess up since the evidence is mounding, literally.
